Lets admit it Roller window blinds are hard to clean, not only is it prone to be destroyed or ruined altogether it is also should be meticulously and thoroughly cleaned from the inside out (well I am being figurative on that statement really).
Anyway this problem was first encountered by me when my mom asked me to clean our computer rooms’ roller blinds and the bad thing about it too is that its a horizontal window roller blinds My goodness I told myself, “How am I going to be able to clean this?”
“I can do this!” I told myself again and again while at the back of my mind its telling me to just throw the whole thing and tell my mom to buy a new one.
Fortunately for my mom the former got the best of me and I decided to look at the task before me with extreme vigour.
But first where do I start? Should I soak the whole thing in a drum of water then hope and pray that the whole thing clean itself?
Fortunately there is what you call Google that can answer almost every question you can think of. Except that it can’t answer why my Ex-girlfriend dump me for another guy but thats another story.
So moving forward I started looking for info on the net and the first thing that it said was:
1: Determine the kind of dust the window roller blind collected.
Wait determine? I mean this thing had been hanging for a year in the computer room so I guess that would make it really dirty.
2: If in case of light cleaning, brush the slats with a vacuum cleaner brush or a clean dust cloth.
Hmm.. I think this would do so I tried the light cleaning method then I realize that the dust is thicker than I expected no wonder my allergic rhinitis kicked in, so I proceeded to the third option.
3: In case that the light cleaning method cannot be applied use the wash method that is using a mild sponge with a detergent using warm or cold water to be placed in a tub of mild and soapy water. Rinsed and wiped clean afterwards left to dry in the open air.
This I think I can do so I proceeded in compiling the necessary things in cleaning the window roller blinds because I was new at it, it took me approximately forty-five minutes to an hour to clean the entire thing.
It was so clean that it made me really proud of myself. My mom even cooked my favorite meal after, but there’s a downside to it all.
After the glorious cleaning of the window roller blinds and my proud grinning self smiling ear to ear my mom announced that I will be the official window blinds cleaner of the house and that is for the rest of my life.
At that exact moment I wanted to kill myself. (huhuhu)
